Formal Presentation Powerpoint: Youmust complete an in-depth presentation powerpoint toward the end of this course. The powerpoint will integrate information presented in this course with outside research.  This portion of the final presentation is worth 100 points.

This presentation will involve your finding a test that we have not covered directly in the course and making a comprehensive presentation about it. This will be “presented” in class.  The real challenge should be making all of the information easy to follow, interesting, and engaging on a powerpoint presentation (do not just write a ‘paper’ in your presentation).

Requirements:

1. Find a test that has not been covered in this course. This must be a professional test and not something that everyone can have access to (i.e. online/internet based only).
2. Include the test, the authors, the publisher, the professional qualifications required to administer it, the necessary materials, and the cost.
3. Include the purpose of the test, appropriate people to administer to, etc.
4. Include information from the Mental Measurements Yearbook!!! (Some items for consideration include when it was reviewed, reliability, validity, etc.)
5. List some realistic strengths and weaknesses. (This could be easy to do by making the information in #4 realistic.)
6. Somewhere in your presentation, utilize at least one peer-reviewed journal article that discusses the test or utilizes it in research.
7. Include five questions about your project that may be used on the final exam.

Suggestions to include in the powerpoint:

Title Page, Overview, some Background Information and Research, Presentation of the Test, Summary, Future Suggestions. More detailed information on each of these sections can be found in the American Psychological Association Writing Guidelines which are most comprehensively covered in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 6^th. Ed. (preferred). Condensed and simplified versions of the APA formatting and referencing requirements may be found online and in other writing manuals but these are not always accurate. Beware.

Students should use Microsoft Powerpoint to complete the assignment. Please do not use Times New Roman or Courier as the font face – or for any work in this course. Preferable fonts include Arial, Gill Sans, and Calibrialthough more choices are available to make it interesting because it is a presentation and not a document. Do not use a white background on your powerpoint presentation!!!  Make certain that it is easily readable.

This presentation will be graded as other assignments have been graded.  After the presentation is graded for content, points will then be deducted for grammatical and typographical errors.  Points WILL BE DEDUCTED FOR CONTRACTIONS!!  Do not use them!  Points will be deducted for tardy work, if it is accepted at all.

This work is for a graduate course.  Professional writing (wording) is expected and required!  Grading will take this into consideration and grades will be assigned accordingly!  Complete this presentation as if it is for an outside contract and you will be paid upon completion.  Consider that the quality and caliber of your work will determine the difference between being paid $50 or $250 for the work.  Which would you prefer?  Complete your work accordingly.  Seek assistance from writing labs or tutors if necessary.
