One reason for this may lie in our collective misunderstanding of the distinctions between a republican form of government and a democracy. This week, you will explore these distinctions, evaluating the scope of power afforded to each of the three branches in the Constitution but also the limits of this power.

Discussion 1: Scope and Limits of Power

Include in your argument the implications of the scope and limits of power for contemporary America and abroad. Using examples from the readings and additional sources from the Walden Library, support your opinions empirically.
